Nancy (Sandra Harrison) is shoved of by her dad & stepmom (Thomas Browne
Henry, Jean Dean) to the Sherwood school for girls, & almost immediately
has difficulties to adjust, since she is known to work up quite a temper &
the school's leading wolfpack, calling themselves the Birds of Paradise,
& led by bitchy Myra (Gail Ganley), won't stop picking on her.
This though gives the school chemistry teacher Miss Branding (Louise Lewis)
an idea: Since she wants to prove to humanity the futility of war because every
human has a destructive power far greateer than the atom bomb inside
him/herself, she figures if she can trigger this power in just one human being,
she would end all wars. & if by that point of the synopsis you haven't
asked what ? even once, either you are mad ... or I am.
Anyways, she figures Nancy would be the perfect guinea pig for her little
experiment & soon hypnotizes her with the help of a medal from Transylvania
- & at first nothing much happens ...
But then one night, when the Birds of Paradise (of which Nancy has
since become a member) have a party, all of a suden one of them (Heather Ames)
turns up dead, sucked dry of all & any blood.
The police, led by Lt.Dunlap (Malcolm Atterbury), is of course left baffled,
only young detecitive Mike (Paul Maxwell) has an idea - vampires (or as he
calls them, Draculas) - but he's of course laughed at.
Soon things seem to settle down again, but at a Halloween scavenger hunt on
the local cemetery, Nancy suddenly finds herself alone with Terry (Shirley
Delancey) ... & turns injto a vampire & kills her. Then Tab (Jerry
Blaine), who at another point in the movie sings the rock-song "Puppy
Love") comes along & she sucks him dry too ...
The police are by now even more baffled but still reluctant to believe in
Draculas, so they take in all the girls & question them with a lie detector
- but since Nancy is still under Miss Branding's spell, she doesn't even know
she is telling the truth.
Nancy's boyfriend Glenn (Michael Hall) however is worried sick about her
& comes visiting her, but when they embrace, she feels the sudden urge to
bite him in the neck & kill him - & she can hold herself back only
just.
Furiously she demands that Miss Branding frees her of the spell, but she's
reluctant & tries to hypnotize her, which makes Nancy so mad that she turns
into a vampire & bites Miss Branding dead, but Miss Branding has just
enough power n her to puch her into a wooden stake ... end.
As you might have guessed from the synopsis, a very stupid blend of
high-school-drama, sci-fi & horror movie, that thanks to its silly story
doesn't work too great in any of these genres ... but is a good laugh
nevertheless precisely because of the incoherent story & the weird vampire
make-up Sandra Harrison is wearing every now & again.
Watch it with beer.
