Sam's (Ari Rogers) a way too serious for her own good film student who
just has learned that she won't be accepted to the most prodigious film
school in the country, much to her shock. Enter Quimby (Eli Evans), a
rather bubbly young woman who always seems to act before thinking and
whose optimism seems to be unwavering - but whose show Bing Bong TV
on public access TV is about to be cancelled should she not come up with
something worthwhile. Now Sam's opinion of Quimby isn't exactly high from
the get-go - but Quimby gets her to meet one of the professors (Chaske
Lindgren) she tried to enter - who unfortunately isn't very much into
Sam's submitted documentary ... but he loves Quimby's show, calling her
the voice of her generation, and he suggests to Sam to work on Bing
Bong TV for a while, upon which she might be admitted next quarter -
pretty much the beginning of a beautiful friendship ... This
pilot episode of Bing Bong TV properly sets the pace for
things to come, drawing attraction as much from its humour, which is
enjoyably all over the place, and its lead couple, who are well-written
and bring just the right chemistry to the screen. A very promising first
episode indeed.
