Tangiers, Morocco: An international filmset with cast and crew from all
over the world awaits the arrival of its Hollywood star, Bruce Glover -
but he doesn't only not arrive, he's nowhere to be found. And while
everybody's trying to stay awake and hydrated on more and more coffee, all
kinds of inner and outer conflicts break out, showing there's much more
not going right here than just the absence of the film's star ... Now
above synopsis is just, and excuse the pun, an approximation on the
movie's actual plot, as the film's approach to storytelling is associative
rather than linear, and it time and again loses and finds itself in
surreal, absurd, and/or abstract skits - that weirdly enough all work well
together and build the backbone for the film's weird coherence. And the
cast's clearly in on everything, giving performances that are at times
over-the-top, stilted, and clash with one another, but all in line with
the film's overall feel. It's probably not for everyone, but if you're up
for some calculated weirdness, you'll be richly rewarded.
