Hal (Johnny Segalla), Logan (Graham King) and Sala (Nick Dayal) are a
trio of filmmakers who try to make it big in TV ads - and one has to
admit, they're actually really good at getting some name brands on board
... but that said, they're at the same time their own worst enemy, putting
their own sense of humour over good taste, showing no sensibilities
whatsoever for the needs of the customer, and simply not having that good
of an idea what makes a good commercial. So basically, they're not as
successful as they want to be ... and then enter Francois (Douglas Rubin)
from Racoon Brand, a French businessman who actually likes their brand of
humour and offers them more money than they've ever seen for an ad - which
is great ... and terrible, because now for the first time, our three
heroes have to show some real work ethics ... Apparently, Ad
Men is a parody of the popular TV show Mad Men - but
even without being into the series, this short offers plenty of laughs
because it features likeable characters whose clumsiness and
insufficiencies are highly relateable, the humour might not always be
politically correct, but it's not offensive for the sake of being
offensive, and the whole thing just flows really well and is told in a
likeably light-footed way. Good fun! By the way, this review
is based on the 14 minute version of the story, if you want to watch the
110 second version to whet your mouth, be my guest:
