Your new movie The Video Dead - in a few words, what is it about, and what can you tell us about your character in it?

It’s about video nasties – remember those from the eighties? A man buys a video nasty and ends up diving into insanity after watching. I play a nun, trying to get the man to repent – definitely no typecasting in this one, lol.

What did you draw upon to bring your character to life, and since you're playing a nun, how hard or easy was it to tap into that mindset even?

She’s just trying to get him to do the right thing so it’s about morality, and so I looked at my own morals to tap into where her thinking was coming from.

How did you get involved with the project in the first place?

I’d worked with Vincent Gallagher before on a previous project and so when he was casting this one, he contacted me to see if I’d be willing to play the part.

To what extent could you identify with The Video Dead's brand of horror? And since the film's about video nasties in a roundabout sort of way, what's your take on those?

To be honest, it’s not my usual style of horror – I’m more of a vampire lover than the video nasty horror. This doesn’t put me off being part of them though.

I remember them from the eighties, but not really something I would watch. I was probably more mainstream horror back then. I think if you saw them now though, they wouldn’t be classed as nasties – just the usual brand of slasher/blood and guts type horror we see today.

What can you tell us about The Video Dead's director Vincent Gallagher, and what was your collaboration like?

As I said, I’d worked with Vince on a previous project so when he asked me to work with him on this project I was happy to help out. He’s a great director to work with, professional and knows what he wants from a shoot.

Do talk about the shoot as such, and the on-set atmosphere?

The shoot was really quick for my scene. It was a great day though – everyone was there to get the job done as quick as possible – time is money after all. The atmosphere was great and so welcoming. I’d happily work with them all again.

Any future projects you'd like to share?

I have a few short films in the pipeline with my acting coach, Christopher Torretto [Chris Torretto interview - click here], that we’re hoping to get made either before Christmas or right after the New Year – 2020 hasn’t been the best for filming so we’ve had some setbacks. I’m itching to get back on set so hopefully there won’t be any more and we can get these films made and out to festivals very soon.

Anything else you're dying to mention and I have merely forgotten to ask?

I’d love to mention the acting classes I attend, Northern Elite Acting Studio - https://www.facebook.com/northernstaracting/. They’re based in Leeds and I’d recommend them to anyone wanting to learn the skills needed to be an actor.

Thanks for the itnerview!
