Your new movie Zombie Playground: Ice Scream - in a few words, what is it about?

Zombie Playground: Ice Scream is about two ladies that get lost in a wood and stumble upon a very odd group of children that have survived there for a long time. In the film you will find out why the children survive and what fate awaits the ladies.

Zombie Playground: Ice Scream isn't your first zombie movie - so what keeps you coming back to the genre, what makes this one stand out, and what were your inspirations when writing the movie?

We have done a few horror films in the last few years including Infected, Extinction (segment of Virus of The Dead), Precious (segment of Blaze of Gory), to name a few and we love horror so wanted to always bring something cool to the scream. We believe that having a zombie film with over 30 children zombies will bring something different to the horror fans.

Since plenty of my readers are gorehounds, you just have to talk about the bloody bits in your movie for a bit, and how were they achieved?

Well, we love gore, and for Zombie Playground: Ice Scream all I can say without giving too much away is seeing the zombie children eating a human victims has to rate high on the gore scale J So let’s hope the fans agree J

What can you tell us about Zombie Playground: Ice Scream's overall approach to horror (as in suspense vs sudden shocks, atmosphere vs all-out gore and the like)?

Zombie Playground: Ice Scream has a bit of everything, so without giving too much away we think horror fans will like it and we intend to continue with the Zombie Playground franchise in the future.

Megan Lockhurst, Rosie Pearson

Do talk about your cast, and why exactly these people?

Cast is always important and we have Jon Campling (from Harry Potter) [Jon Campling interview - click here], Rosie Pearson (from Infected, Crying Wolf), Megan Lockhurst (from Extinction, Essex Boys: Law of Survival), David Sellicks (from Crying Wolf, Demon Mist) and all of the cast were amazing. We have worked with most of them in the past so we knew straight away the roles would be suited for them. We spent time talking to a few actors about the main role and when we talked to Jon we knew he was the one and when he was on set the character he plays just came to life. The kids were cast with the help of an agency and each one of them were superstars for the day.

What can you tell us about the shoot as such, and the on-set atmosphere?

We shot Zombie Playground: Ice Scream mainly over two days in July and had over 100 cast and crew on set. Like every film set we all worked together as a team and everyone on set had a great time as well so always a good atmosphere, even the torrential rain didn’t dampen our spirits. We have to thank every single person involved as it was simply an amazing team effort J

The $64-question of course, when and where will Zombie Playground: Ice Scream be released?

Zombie Playground: Ice Scream is due out for release to the film festivals in January 2016, and we will be updating the Facebook pages on which festivals it is being screened at to give everyone a chance to see it on the big screen.

Any future projects you'd like to share?

We are also working on two feature films, Torture and Zombikini, so look out for more about those titles in 2016, plus we will be doing a few more shorts as well.
