Your new movie The Laughing Mask - in a few words, what is it about, and what can you tell us about your character in it?

I play the character Brock Washington. Brock is of the film’s lead investigating detectives assigned to the laughing mask case. Brock comes from a long line of decorated officers and is a highly intelligent “by the book” detective who carries a high testosterone level and can get down and dirty if need to be. So in a straight up bar fight, he would be the guy you want on your side.

How did you get involved with the project in the first place?

Speaking of bar fights, that is really what drew me to audition for The Laughing Mask. A bar brawl! I have a history as an actor in going toe to toe and fighting horror icons, ie: Michael Myers in Legends 2: A Halloween Tale. So, I auditioned for a role as a THE MUSCLE of a gang called the Rancors that required a lot of smack talk and a one-on-one brawl with The Laughing Mask. Approximately a week later I received a phone call from the director, Michael Aguiar [Michael Aguiar interview - click here], stating how impressed he was with my audition and offered me the role and I accepted.

A month or so later we had our table read with The Laughing Mask’s cast and that’s when fate decided to step in. The actor who was cast as Brock Washington was unable to make it that particular day and in addition to my part, I was asked to read for Brock. So long story short, I was upgraded and was offered the role of Brock Washington. The magic behind casting: Anything is possible.

What can you tell us about your director Michael Aguiar [Michael Aguiar interview - click here], and what was your collaboration like?

Michael was a pleasure to work with and he is blessed with a very supportive loving family. Who also can cook delicious Columbian food - I think it was Columbian J While on the topic of support on the set, Michael also had a top notch DOP, script supervisor and solid crew working behind the scenes. All in all, I was very excited to wake up each morning knowing I was going to be on set with some great people, hot on the bloody trail of the laughing mask.

What can you tell us about the shoot as such, and the on-set atmosphere?

The on-set atmosphere was a hoot! There was never a dull moment with the cast and crew. Lots of positive energy, smiles, laughter, food and lasting friendships. I chalk that one up as a “Win.”

Any future projects you'd like to share?

Future Projects…. Hmmmm Yessssss. The Fran Rafferty pipeline J

Currently, I just wrapped on a pro-wrestling film in Savannah Georgia entitled Headlocked, written and directed by the talented Brian O’Grady. I play the lead antagonist Vladamir The Impaler. Headlocked is an entertaining comedy about a couple of down-and-out former pro-wresters who never met in the ring during their careers as professional wrestlers. Crusher, played by Mark Troy and Vladamir The Impaler eventually run into each other after the fame, glory and money are gone. They take the “disputed” championship belt to the streets as casino greeters and an epic fight to be remembered. Lol good times. Think of a younger version of the Grudge Match staring Sly Stallone and Robert De Niro, but in the world of professional wrestling.

2016 is going to be a fun-filled acting adventure that will be taking my career to new heights. Too many projects in the makes to mention, but be on the lookout J

What got you into acting in the first place, and did you receive any formal training on the subject? And what can you tell us about your filmwork prior to The Laughing Mask?

A little history about myself:

Well...

Born andraised in the Coal Regions of Pennsylvania, an Irish Catholic family consisting of two sisters, a hard working father who was a coal miner, and my loving mother who was a stay at home mom. I was raised strict, we were accomplished and driven. I went to high school at Cardinal Brennan Catholic school where I excelled in academics and sports. I received a full academic scholarship to Wilkes University where I majored in Pre-Med and Psychology.

During my college years I also trained as a competitive teenage bodybuilder out of Karpy's Fitness Center, located in Shenandoah Pennsylvania, where I appeared in Iron Man Magazine, Flex Magazine, and Muscular Development. I have been involved in bodybuilding and the fitness industry since I was 12 years old, and still remain passionate about it ‘till present day.

My acting career was launched in 2010 after studying Film/Theatre for several years in Harrisburg Pennsylvania at Open Stage under the teaching and leadership of Anne Alsedek education director.

In 2012, I was diagnosed with stage 3 testicular cancer and had undergone 16 weeks of intense chemotherapy. I took a break from filming and bodybuilding for one year and am now cancer free. Since then, I have made a tremendous comeback, secured leading roles in The Trade (Godbout Entertainment), The Anniversary (Epic Media Studios) and Headlocked. In 2014, I found the love of my life, Jo-Ann Bartina, and we were engaged in May 2015.

Thanks for the interview!
