Your new movie Maturing
Youth - in a few words, what is it about, and what can you tell us
about your character in it?
is about a man named, Roger, who has a sort of
Peter-Pan-syndrome, who just doesnít want to grow up and face reality.
He has a little too much fun out one night and unbeknownst to him gets a
woman pregnant. A few years later she comes back into his life wanting him
to help her raise their son.
My character Mae is a silly, fun-loving college girl looking to use
Roger for marijuana and alcohol and is one of the signs early on in the
movie that highlights just what a loser heís really being.
What did you draw upon to
bring your character to life? And how much Darleen Rae Fontaine can we
find in Mae?
Chase Michael Pallante [Chase
Michael Pallante interview - click here], our producer for the
film, really encouraged us to dig deep and build a background story on our
character. Personally I am very much a silly, fun-loving woman myself so
Mae and I have that in common. Although I was never one of those
use-and-abuse type of girls, I did have a best friend growing up that sure
did enjoy getting what she could out of men who we both knew she wasnít
interested in. I looked to sort of emulate that sort of behavior.
How did you get
involved with the project in the first place?
I had just
finished off a great year for myself starring in my television debut of
Investigation Discovery's Grave Secrets' The Last Calls She Made
episode, and I was hungry for more! After the holiday I was fast at work
auditioning for a number of projects and saw the casting for Maturing
Youth. Once I read the sides I knew it was something I wanted to be
of and I went for it.
you tell us about your director Divoni Simon [Divoni
Simon interview - click here], and what was your collaboration
Divoni Simon was such a pleasure to work with, he
knows exactly what he wants to see and was great about keeping everyone on
the same page.
What can you tell us about the shoot as such, and
the on-set atmosphere?
The cast grew close quick! By the
end of the shoot Raeíl Ba [Rael Ba
interview - click here], who played Maggie, and I were really thick as
thieves and gabbing away like Maggie and Mae. We had a great time.
Any future projects you'd like to
My voice-over acting career has taken off a bit,
Iíve worked with Facebook and UnderArmour most recently and I just
wrapped a commercial and print shoot for Third Love, an undergarment
company based out of California, so keep an eye and ear out for me!
What got you into acting in the first place, and
did you receive any formal training on the subject?
started acting in middle school playing Rusty, made famous by Sarah
Jessica Parker, in the musical Footloose, I was in love ever
since. Apart from taking a few classes in college, Iíve trained at the
Acting Studio: New York and with Rebel Theater Company ensemble group.

can possibly be.
